China Eco-Bag Exports Up 14.7% YoY in Q1 2026

According to China General Administration of Customs data released in April 2026, China's Q1 2026 export of eco-friendly bags and sustainable packaging reached USD 1.83B, +14.7% YoY, accounting for about 38% of global eco-bag trade volume.

Top 3 destinations: USA (USD 421M, +11.2%), Germany (USD 204M, +18.6%), UK (USD 165M, +22.4%). Fastest-growing destinations are UK and Netherlands (+22% and +19% YoY), driven by GRS-certified bag and reusable cotton bag demand.

Top 3 export categories: non-woven (46%), shopping totes (22%), cooler bags (11%). Notably, jute bags and compostable PLA bags crossed the 5% export share threshold for the first time, signaling a shift from non-woven-dominant to multi-material parallel. Yage's Q1 2026 exports grew +23%, well above industry average.
